Xine installation:everything did but it still can't be done!
Hello,sir!
Recently I tried to install Xine(1.2.1) which downloaded from xine-project.org on my machine(CPU:i3 OS:CentOS 6.2).But when I executing "./configure",it prompt that "checking for LIBVCDINFO... configure: error: Package requirements (libvcdinfo >= 0.7.23) were not met:" .Actually,I have installed libvcdinfo 0.7.24 on my computer. And then I tried to correct the PKG_CONFIG_PATH and add the directory contains libvcdinfo.so* to ld.so.conf and tried again. But the same question still occured.
So,could you give me some more tips to work out this problem?
Besides,I have read README,INSTALL and the documentation with xine-lib.
Why aren't you installing from a repository? I've just done "yum search xine" and it's available, although I didn't check whether that's in EPEL or RPMfusion.
You also need to install the development package for the mentioned library, AFAIK they have the "-devel" suffix on Red Hat based systems.
But I agree with DavidMcCann here, installing from a repo would be far simpler and you would automatically get updates.

I did that and I got a returning message "libXinerama.* libXinerama-devel* xinetd.*". But when I "sudo yum install lib...",it told me that all the packages exist already. So,I tried to installed xine-ui.But it reminded me to install xine-lib.It's funny, but I will keep trying untill it worked out.
Thank you for your help and hope to get more information from you!
In addition, after google the problem,I tried to install vcdimager. But a similar but more crazy problem burst. It told me that some dynamic libraries needed by the installing package. But the libraries actually exist in /lib or /lib64 and I tried the method I metioned in the top post(add the path to ld.so.conf and re-ldconfig or correct PKG_CONFIG_PATH),the result was still failure.

But "-devel" needs me to install xine-lib firstly and that couldn't be done.I know "yum" can turn installation and upgrading simple but xine can not be found on it.
I meant the devel package for libvcdinfo, not xine.
You are right. That really caused by libvcdinfo.devel doesn't exist and I got it from pkgs.org to make that problem solved. But a new problem occured now,and I am going to solve them one by one.
