xfs problem? X Server won't start after system wipe
Following my complete computer wipe thanks to partition magic, I am reconstructing the system. Works pretty well, but I am affraid the backuptool did not preserve all the attributes or ownership.
Everything works pretty good now, I had to reinstall the dev/ dir from rpm, but the X Server won't start.
It seems to me that it is a xfs problem:
xfs: ignoring font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic
when starting the X, the screen becomes black for some while and then the server crashes with the error:
Fata server error:
could not open defaul font 'fixed'
Could it be that thing with the "listening sockets"?
What am I missing?

Any pointers appreciated...
check your configuration file in /etc/X11/fs/config
(also check the server settings)
see man xfs for details
Note that this file should be symlinked to
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fs directory
coz the xfs service uses that config file.
I forgot to mention:
The whole system is RedHat 9 and
I removed the whole X Server components over rpm and reinstalled it. Wierd that this should not fix the problem.
I have a feeling that this problem might be rooted not in X or XFS, but in these unix sockets, which I know nothing about (that XFS cannot create any listening sockets)
I had the /dev dir bombed, so maybe something is strange there or another part of the OS had the wrong ownership.
The config tool redhat-config-xfree86 does not even work.
