XandroOS
As some of you probably know already, a company called Xandros purchased Corel Linux a while back, and they are releasing their OS on the sept 30th. I read what Beta testers have been saying, and, well, it looks like windows to me, but i didnt find any bad comments about this OS. No slowdowns, no lockups, etc...
What do you think about it? Are we just getting another Lindows or is this actually gonna be a good desktop linux?
I'm definetly staying with my Slack tho
Just wanted to know other's views.
Thanks
Although this Xandros doesn't look to bad aswell.(I think it'll suit my classmates very well(they just got heavy symptoms of Linuxmania last week (my fault I guess ))
Once again, the slackers strike with the famous "it's not slack, so it can't be any good" mantra . Ignore them, exercise your own right to choose, and go with whatever Linux distro works for you. If it's Linux, it's good !!
I know this is quite an old thread, but I just read about Xandros in MicroMart (UK weekly magazine that has a section on Linux)... and am I the only one that is crying 'Please - not another one!'? I mean, this (the 'windows compatibility' page) shows to me that all they've done is take a bunch of 3rd party apps and put them into the boiling pot! How many more distro's are going to appear that 'make the transition easier' that do exactly the same thing? Sorry if this seems like a bit of a rant, but I do not like to see things like this happening!
Distribution: tried a lot of 'em, now using kubuntu

I just witnessed an install of XandrOS at my LUG meeting this weekend. It really looks like it might have something on the ball. XandrOS comes with 2 plug-ins that in themselves cost about $80-90, so the $99 price-tag is pretty fair. I say, "Give it a look before you dis' it". I've got slack on my hdd, too, but I think I'm begining to like my LFS better.
