X-server and MORE fun

Hey people, I have three problems I could use help with. First, my x-server has a nasty habit of seemingly randomly resetting, spitting me back out at the X login screen. I assume that I have a corrupt configuration file somewhere... any thoughts?

Secondly, as of late I have been getting loads of segmentation faults. All kinds of programs, even install programs are getting them. I though that this too could be related to the X problems.

The final problem(and least important ultimately) is that XMMS refuses to work under windowaker, saying it cannot use the sound drivers. However,XMMS works perfectly under KDE and Gnome.

Any thoughts, helpful or otherwise will either be appreciated, or scoffed at by me later. Thanks .

What kind of setup do you have? Distro, compiler, what version of programs are you running, etc.

If you are running beta or alpha software that could explain a lot of what you are seeing.

Hmm just a newbie myself, but a guess is : you are running on a low memory system (64MB or less) and have insufficient swap file space ? Try `swapon -s` next time X has a tantrum, examine swap use.
