I am using 2 slackware computers and I want to enable X forwarding over ssh

I am in the terminal and I type ssh -X root@192....

then after authentification I type startx.. and it starts.. on the other computer. I have enabled X forwarding in sshd_confid and in my ssh_config
Please help. Thank you.

Run startx locally and run apps remotely (in ssh). It's that easy.

Thank you.
1. How do I do just that
2. What if I want to see the whole screen as if I would be in front of that computer.

In order to see the whole screen, you'd need to use a tool like VNC. X Forwarding is used to have remote X apps appear on the local X server.

Not sure about number 2, but this one I can answer. As raskin said, run X on the machine you're connecting from and then open up a terminal window (xterm, rxvt, Konsole, etc) and connect to the server like you have done above (although, it is safer to disable root login in your sshd_config and connect as a normal user, then use su). All you then need to do is run whatever graphical program you want at the prompt and it should appear on the local machine.

And on the first point - run startx, run xterm in it (or some terminal emulator), run 'ssh -X' in xterm, run application you need in ssh.
