X display question

I'm not sure if this question belongs in this forum, but I was not sure where else to put it.

Here's what I'm trying to do.

I want to ssh from computer A into computer B and then have X display it's output on computer B.

Whenever I try doing this X is sent back across the network to computer A. That's not what I want to do.

In particular I'm trying to ssh into computer B which has no keyboard or mouse, but does have a display and I want the output of mplayer display on computer B.

If anyone knows how to send the output to the proper display I'd be very appreciative.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi.

I've not tried this myself, but it should work...
ssh in as usual to the machine, and do 'export DISPLAY=:0.0' then try running an X app.
It's possible there may be authentication issues, but I doubt it.

ilikejam,

Hey this is a great example of LQ at work! I searched around on the net for a while trying to find out how to do this and couldn't find the right answer. Your advice works perfectly. Thanks a bunch!
