Would this work?
I'm not to good with linux as im new but i am part of a small indie game development team and were currently working on a first person platformer on the Unreal engine 3 but i was wondering, would it be possible to make a game that you play inside terminal with bash scripts? sort of something like this (i wrote a quick bash script and im sure theres mistakes in it but heres what im guessing it would look like):
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
clear
echo "You awaken lying face down in the middle of the road, by the position of the sun it is about noon, there's a half collapsed McDonalds 25 yards to the east. You look west and see an aircraft slam into a lake, by the markings you can see that it is an American Airlines passenger jet, you hear no cries for help and everyone inside is presumed dead, there is a long narrow road coming from the North and headed somewhere south, in what direction do you wish to go?"
echo ""
if [ $direction = north ]
then echo "You walk for 3 days and 3 nights, there have been no signs of surviviors, you found an orange on the side of the road and have kept it in case you cannot find any other food. You are now at a cross roads, you can only go one direction, to your east lays nothing but road, you can see a barn in the distance to the north and what seems to be a small town to the west or, you can turn back the way you came which is not advisable. Choose wisely, you have little food and enough water for a days trip at best, choose your path."
elif [insert bullcrap here]

I got the idea from the easter egg in Call of Duty:Black Ops in which you play a cool little text based game, so is it possible to do this and run the script in terminal?
