WinME & WinMediaPlayer

WinME y WinMediaPlayer estan porqedias.
WinME and WinMediaPlayer are trash.

Why does my music constantly skip?! It skips enough when I am doing somthing, but even when It is running only the media player it skips! I have 128 meg of ram, yet it still skips. Is there anything that can possible fix this. I have never been on a PC that is capable of playing music with out skipping, I was wondering if linux can do this? My soundcard wont work for linux.

No offense, but this is a linux forum, not windows. How mediaplayer works is nothing to do with us. Your problem could be casued by a thousand different things. I'd personally guess at your CPU. How fast is it? Also your soundcard mightn't be good enough.

My computer never has problems with skipping, under linux or windows, both are totally fine with playing mp3's.

CPU is a celeron 700, i also have an AMD K62 400. The 400 is nearly as fast as the celeron. Anyway...

Still, you're talking about Microsoft

Um, well, the idea still stands that this is a *linux* help forum. We don't really deal with Windows problems here. I'm sure that somewhere out there is a forum as friendly and ... Spirited as this one is that is focused on Windows problems.
Just thinking of the problem in a critical way, if you have a crapload of applications running in the background (as I suspect that you do), try hitting Ctrl-Alt-Delete and one by one removing them, THEN try it. Where Linux can multitask, Windows rather sucks at it.

And then, there's ALWAYS the way to fix ANY Microsoft machine that doesn't work:

at the risk of inciting a flame fest, i'd say just try to re-install media player. or, better yet, forget media player and go with winamp. it's not linux, but at least it's open source. as for ME, it's not even worth trying to salvage. if there's anyway you can down/up/sideways/grade to 98, do it.
