Hi everyone, this is my problem; my brother installed windows on disk with linux and grub boot-loader... My qestion is simple, is there any way how to run linux now? it looks like windows erased boot sector and made its own.
thx for answers
Yes, Windows does just overwrite the boot sector - it rather arrogantly assumes that if you have Windows you don't want anything else
Fortunately, all you should need to do is boot from your Linux installation CD/floppy/whatever and as it too reinstall the boot-loader (how you do this depends upon your distro).
Or, you could boot from a LiveCD linux (e.g. Knoppix/Mepis/Ubuntu/lots more ) and chroot into your installed linux root partition, then run grub to reinstall it.
Thx for reply, i use suse 9.2 and i think there is no possibility of installing grub; Live-CD possibility is fine, thx for that.. ill just have to download fuc*ing 700 mb
