windowME disk mount problem
I recently installed suse 8.2 Pro onto a WinME system & I get 'wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdb1 or too many mounted file systems' when I try to mount one of my windows drives.
The mount options are -t vfat /dev/hdb1 /windows/D -o users,gid=users,umask=0002,iocharset=iso8859-1,code437 which looks good to me. I've unmounted other drives to eliminate the 'too many...' possibility. This drive is on my primary slave disk, but so is another drive that mounts fine. The only distinction I can see is the size, hdb1 is about 106GB and all other drives are less than 12GB. Anyone have a suggestion? |
did you just try to use a simple command like ::
mount -t vfat /dev/hdb1 /windows/D without all them extra options...cause as man mount shows, some of the option (-o) commands are only useful if they appear in the /etc/fstab file...so just try it with the command given, and see if the same error results... |
winME mount problem
yes I tried the simple version, got the same error message
all of those options are in the /etc/fstab |
did you make a directory called /windows/D? :Pengy:

My SuSE 9.0 will not mount the win98se partition. Mandrake 9.2 mounts it fine, SuSE will mount a copy of the partition used for wine but will not allow parts of it's permissions to be changed using chmod, I guess it thinks that a foreign OS should be left alone. There are a lot of strange things in SuSE, and this is sure one of them.
