well, i don't know exactly what you want... but if you're looking for ways to customize windowmaker, then that's pretty simple.
first off, if you've never run windowmaker before, you're gonna need to run wmaker.inst in order for the managers files to be installed into your home dir. after that you should be able to start it up just fine (if you can't then there are probably issues with X).
windowmaker is quite a bit more difficult and confusing to customize than fluffy gnome or kde, you mostly have to download/install tools in order to help you along the way. i recommend the following program:
