WindoMaker


I just installed WindowMaker8.0, but how do I run it?

Which distribution are you using? You could use a number of different methods like Switchdesk, editing your .xinitrc or .Xclients file to exec wmaker or adding it to your login list if you use a graphical login.

If you are using KDE you'll wanna go to Preferences->System->Login Manager (I believe that's the name) and you can add it to the menu in there. You'll need to be Super-User or root. If you are using Gnome and the GDM login manager you'll wanna run the gdm configuration and go to the startup list there and add it.

I'm in the Login Manager, but I can't figure out how to add WindowMaker.

I added 'wmaker' to the Login Manager, but when I choose that option, it just brings me to regular KDE.
