Winbind and Samba 3.0 -- duplicate UID's

I have a test Win2k AD Domain replicating properly with a RH9 box. Everything is running smoothly, however if I create a local user on the RH box and then on the 2k server, winbindd assigns a duplicate ID to the 2k account when it replicates. Essentially:

getent passwd

2KDOMAIN+joe = uid 10121
2KDOMAIN+frank = uid 10122

adduser mark (on linux box)

"mark" is now assigned the uid 10123.

Now back at the 2k box, if I create a user, for example "mike", upon replication, winbindd assigns mike the same uid as mark.

getent passwd

2KDOMAIN+joe = uid 10121
2KDOMAIN+frank = uid 10122
mark = uid 10123
2KDOMAIN+mike = uid 10123

It seems confusing but those running this setup have probably come across this. Is there a fix for this short of changing the uid manaully?

Why would you need to make the entry on both server if they can replicate? Isn't that the point of replication?

I'm not making a duplicate....let's say I wanted to create a user for backup purposes or for administrative purposes. I'd have to change the uid manually.

You said you are making a local user? I don't think you can make a local user in a DC. I'm not sure, not such a windows specialist.
