wierd problem!

I'm using Red Hat 9, when i play Tux Racer it flickers then my desktop suddenly have big icons and it hangs, although it gets back to normal when i log in again.... this happens randomly when i'm playing Tux Racer....

Chromium works fine though, i dont encounter any problems on other games too...

any idea on whats causing these??

oh and....

this problem happens on a particular map(who said linux can't fly).... i think.... although i haven't tried all the maps
