I am trying to create an alias (vk1) for one of remote printer(name-test). I can print from my workstation(running linux 2.6.9-34) if i use actual printer (test) name, but when i use alias (vk1) it shows error:
i have added alias by running setup-->printer configuration. But it does not show in /etc/printcap file. if i run setup again it shows alias there.
# cat /etc/printcap

I would appreciate if someone know the reason why its happening ??Thanks in advance..
Do not post your question more than once... and don't bump your own thread within 24 hours unless adding more information. This is the definition of absolute rudeness here. I have reported the other thread to be closed.
Neither i have fun in posting same issue twice nor it would resolve it any earlier. This was my first post . When it does not appear in forum after first issuance..i become little panic & shoot another one.
Don't try to relate it with rudeness..i am aware of rules & member with other forums .i have joined this forum to share linux experience, not to create nuisance in forum.
I hope it would clear that nothing was intentional...
