Post Why my Linux box doesn't have "/proc/vmcore" ?

Hi folks,
I want to debug Linux-3.5.1 on a Debian 6.0 using kdump, but /proc/vmcore doesn't exist. What's the problem? How can I change the kdump's configuration to read from /dev/oldmem or other alternatives?

My kernel config and cmdline:

Code:
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO=y
CONFIG_KEXEC=y
CONFIG_CRASH_DUMP=y
CONFIG_MAGIC_SYSRQ=y
CONFIG_PROC_VMCORE=y

BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.5.1 root=UUID=f64add27-9989-437e-99c3-0632d80a4363 ro crashkernel=384M-2G:64M,2G-:128M
and kdump-config savecore output:
Code:
kdump-config savecore
running makedumpfile -c -d 31 /proc/vmcore /var/crash/201305180259/dump-incomplete.
open_dump_memory: Can't open the dump memory(/proc/vmcore). No such file or directory

makedumpfile Failed.
kdump-config: makedumpfile failed, falling back to 'cp' ... failed!
cp: cannot stat `/proc/vmcore': No such file or directory
kdump-config: failed to save vmcore in /var/crash/201305180259 ... failed!
