why have I got no /home??

I replace Mandrake with a hdinstall of Knoppix 3.3 ---- all is fine with the install except my /home partition on /dev/hdb1 won't mount on /home. My fstab in no doubt wrong ---- here's the line ---- can anyone spot the error?
/dev/hdb1 /home reiserfs defaults,users,exec 0 0

Thanks a million. I'm sure it's something small ---

Ok, are you sure your partition use reiserfs? And I'm not sure defaults can be used without other parameters, a quick peek at mount's man page still left me unsure.

What do you get as error message?

Have you tried to mount it without relying on fstab?

Take a quick look at your partition table to make sure everything is detected.
Code:
fdisk -l
And then try to mount it manually.
Code:
mount -t reiserfs /dev/hdb1 /home
If you type mount only, it displays a list of currently mounted partitions.

All very wierd ---- I reinstalled Knoppix for various reasons and followed the same mount/fstab procedure as before and voila --- it's working. Thanks.
