why does my ntfs partition only read-only?


im using RH8
updated my kernel to support ntfs by downloading a rpm file..
i was able to mount ntfs partition succesfully...
the problem is.. even if i type:

mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/win -o umask=0222


hmmmm
can someone help me? thanks

You'd have to explicitly enable ntfs-write
support in the kernel, too... however, it's
NOT considered to be safe
and discouraged to do that. If you need to
share data between Linux and NiceTry (or
eXPeriment) use a Fat-partition.

ntfs write is not completely supported because microsoft is not telling its specs. use another fat drive to write data between them

oh.... so maybe i think that writing to NTFS partitions is impossible for now.... thanks guyz =)
