Who is editing my file?

Just a brief intro before my first post. I am an intermediate level linux user, and am familiar with using it for my C/C++ programming needs and some scripting.

Q: Is there a way I can find out who is editing my file. The file has write permissions for a few users, and I would like to find out which user is currently modifying it.
