while launching yahoo messenger in redhat 9 getting segmentation fault error

i think you need to update the yahoo messenger

there was some talk last year of yahoo changing the protocols, which broke the default linux version

check the version number against this page

if not, delete the cache in dir /.ymessenger in your home directory
and try it again

Hi Linux guys ...

Segmentation fault while opening yahoo messenger is a known issue ..

Just follow the steps ... I can assure you it will work ....and in fact this is working ...

1. Create one new user account .
2.Login with that account .
3.Open a terminal.
4.type su and login.
5.Type rpm -e ymessenger
6.go to /usr/bin and delete all yahoo entry .
7.go to /opt/ymessenger and manually delete the folder.
8.now install the ymessenger rpm pckg..
9.go to /opt/ymessenger and run the ymessnger file
