Whiich DBMS for very large database?


i am working on a search engine system which will have a very very big database i looked at some benchmarks mysql was better on general i want to have your ideas in real world what happens.

Conditions on server

very very large tables
database has 8 tables
crawling and searching takes place in same database diffrent tables

what do you consider large ?
mysql v4 is nice for something pretty large ...

Of course it has to be postgresql ;)
Limitations

MySQL has more users than PostgreSQL...
Windows has more users than Linux ... :}
