I never got my Logitec USB wireless optical to work in MDK 9.0 but I tired of Mandrake long before it was really an issue. I'm fairly certain that your mouse should work with Mandrake though. What does your XF86Config(-4) look like? Same mouse works quite well with Debian however. Have you ever heard of Knoppix? Very excellent bootable cd distro that can be installed to hard drive. You can download and burn an .iso and try it out- no install required.

Look into your logs (/var/log/messages) to see if there are error messages and/or messages about usb/usbmouse. When it works during installation, it should be quite easy to fix it.

I have an ms wireless usb mouse working great under mdk 9.

1. Run the mouse config tool ("mouseconfig" or "mousedrake") select usb wheel mouse.
2. "/sbin/rmmod usbmouse"
3. The mouse entry in your XF86Config-4 file should be "/dev/usbmouse" (/dev/mouse should also work).

Youll have to put "/sbin/rmmod usbmouse" in your /etc/rc.local file so that the command gets run at boot.
