Question Which inkjet printer?

Hi guys

Christmas has been and gone, and has left me with a wod of dosh to spend.

I was thinking of getting 512mb of memory and a printer, but which one???

If you could let me know which brands are the easiest to setup and are most supported that would be great. Also if you could indicate which port your printer is connected to, that would also help.

Thx guys

I believe cannon and epson models will be fine, just don't shell out loot for something really new with bells and whistles. HP is a good choice too. Most distos nowadays come with printer configuration tools which are most likely to configure these printers.

i've got an HP610c and the print quality is nearly as good an windows, which is very good... it cost £80 from dixons just over a year ago, so the new equivalent should be worth a buy.

but then.... the thing with DeskJets is that.... ok the paper goes in at the bottom, flat, and is picked up by three big fat rubber rollers, but after a year or so (i've found this on 3 different HP models) the rubber just start being slippery, and not picking up the paper unelss the tray is crammed full. cleaning the rollers with acetone (nail varnsih remover) is the best solution i've found... anyone else got any ideas? i thought about even cutting treads and suich like in the rollers!

A very reliable and well support range i'd say, but might piss you off after a year or so...

If your going to buy a printer for linux then get an Epson, they have the best support for linux and generally the drivers enable the full features unlike HP or Cannon.
