Talking Where does IRCD-Hybrid searchs for the motd?

I have spent the last several hours digging through Google search results, source code, and/or strace. I haven't been able to locate where IRC-Hybrid 7.3 searchs for the MOTD file. I have build IRC-Hybrid 7.3 from source and I have named it "ircd.motd" and place it in $PREFIX and $PREFIX/etc/, no luck. If anyone could help me with please free feel to oblige.

hybrid, irc, ircd
