Where can i get Linux Desktop Gadgets Application

Hie all,

I'm using openSUSE 10.2 and would like to use the desktop gadgets like the ones that come with Google Desktop. The Linux version of Google Desktop does not have gadgets but i have seen these gadgets on Ubuntu 7.04, certainly not from Google Desktop.

I have searched around but the official openSUSE website has this article http://en.opensuse.org/Launch_Desktop, that leads to this me to this website, http://roket3d.gm-resources.com/index.php?page=launch Unfortunately the download section has windows downloads, http://roket3d.gm-resources.com/inde...page=downloads

Is there anyone who knows where i can get these gadgets? Thanks in advance.

Rgds

you seem to change your mind 5 times about what you actually want... the google gadgets are windows only. launch desktop doesn't exist yet. what do you actually want to achieve?

Try superkaramba most of the "google gadgets" can be found in similar karamba themes

If only you take time to read and understand a post before hitting the Submit button you could have given me an answer like the one from craigevile. The whole point of referring to the Google Desktop gadgets is to give anyone who is going to help me a background on the issue together with what i want and as such get an answer thats not wild and off topic.

Its not about the number of posts that counts, its about the quality of posts. Thanks craigevil.

i read your post, that's for the insults though, always appreciated. you never once said what you actually want. one second it's google desktop, then it's launch... craigevil took the line that you want somethign pretty and generally useless which is what superkaramba is, but you never asked for somethign equivalent to anything...

One man's meat is another man's poison, i have passed the stage were i rant about whats useful or useless, everything has a purpose of its own, be it eye candy. We all have choices anyway.

Interesting how craigevil figured out how Google Desktop Gadgets are equivalent to SuperKaramba

I addition to Superkaramba, If you use the linux version of opera as a browser, the gadgets that are available with that worked when I tried them out.

"Is there anyone who knows where i can get these gadgets?"

is not

"Is there anyone who knows where i can get something which is functionally equivalent to these gadgets?"

to me, you are clearly asking for those *exact* things, not equivalents, which is why i gave the answer i did.
