If you are a newbie then you should make life simple for yourself. Avoid LVM until you understand how to use it. If you (or your distro) insist on using LVM then you should probably post in the Fedora forum.

It looks to me like your Fedora install toasted your NTFS partitions. If you've written on the disk where NTFS was you probably lost your data. Both drives have LVM partitions on them and there is no sign of NTFS or anything winbloze. That tells me that Fedora helped itself to both your drives or "operator error" allowed him to grab both disks.

You did back up your winbloze data right?

Depending on how much you have in your Fedora system it may be time to start downloading NTFS recovery utilities.

He's not concerned about the NTFS partitions--he blew it away on purpose, to use all his disk space for Linux.

Since I'm not familiar with LVM, the only suggestion I have is to try and set things up to boot onto the old Linux setup. Then, all the data should be accessable.

Maybe he should clarify [I]which[I] files he's looking for. You may be right but I thought he had his movies left over from Winbloze.
