What the shit Mplayer?
Slackware 9.0 with Gnome
Why can't I install Mplayer? Get the .tgz and gzip -d tar xvf the .tar Then I am left with.....nothing! I get an install folder in the same location with the doinst.sh, but I can't do anything with it other than view. ./doinst.sh tells me I don't have permission (as root!) sh doinst.sh looks like it goes through the loops, but says none of the directories are there. Am I supposed to manually move all of this stuff myself? Where is the configure, make, make install? Thanks. Sean. |
it seems that what you downloaded was a Slackware package of MPlayer.
See if "installpkg <file-name>" will help. |
That's what it was! Thanks!
Now though, Kaboodle keeps opening for movies. If I right click on an mpeg and look at the open with properties, but kaboodle isn't there in the list. Why does it keep opening? Thanks. Sean. |
On a side note, please watch your language and there is never a reason to put slang in your thread title. Regards.
