what is purpose of "savedefault" in menu.lst
I recently upgraded my kernel for Ubuntu from 2.6.15-15-23 to 2.6.15-51. After it was installed I kept getting an "Error 15: File not found". I could boot all the way using the recovery mode, so I went to "menu.lst" and compared the section for "Ubuntu" and "Ubuntu- Recovery mode". One difference I noted was that the command "savedefault" was missing from the Recovery Mode. Then I remembered that I had to remove it from the first menu file I had used.
So, what is the intended use for "savedefault" and is there something I am missing here.
