What is karamba or superkaramba?

I saw that it has to do with themes, but is it a theme manager like KDE's theme manager (which doesnt work for crap might I add). I want to make my desktop look like a Mac, but I cant add any themes in KDE. How is the best way to go about doing this?

please go to sourceforge and search for baghira and download the correct rpm for your distro which will do the job turning your kde into mac look and feel.

if the rpms done work then you might have to download the sourcecode and compile it you self.

and about what is karamba or superkaramba it is a widget a skinable widget like what confabulator does (i might spelled it wrongly but it sound the same)

it is a program that interperate your custom made skin int which that skins sit ontop of you linux destop and does action that you programmed it to do when input are given it will perfrom actions.

you can custom made that skin youself provided technique from the official website.
there are many skins outthere and does alot.

Its basicly like Samurize for windows, there is also gDesklets for gnome (although i carn't get it to compile ). Basicly it can be used to put cpu moniters and other stuff onto your desktop. Check some of the screenshots on the sites.

I tried downloadint the Baghira RPM and the tarball, and neither of them work. It always complains about a desktop file missing for the tar ball and for the RPM, I cant find where it installed to and its not listed in look and feel for me to enable.

download this source code:

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/b...r.bz2?download

then decompress it, after that go to the folder and do this:

# ./configure --prefix=/usr
(NOTE: /usr is where Redhat9 puts its theme other distro i not know but most probaly it will work if you dont see "opt" directory in /)

# make
# make install

and by this you'll see baghira in the style entry of control center of kde.

it works fine with me when i compiled this way on my redhat 9 system

and it looks great
