What is a WRITING CHANNEL?

-- I edited Writing to Waiting channel , this is a type, my question is with regard to what a
"waiting channel is"? -- sorry for the confusion
Dear community.

Looking at the System Monitor I can see the column "Waiting channel" which
is filled in with values like kthreadd, worker_thread, kjournald etc.

I have no idea what this informaiton gives me. can somebody give me a clue?

I would expect that to be waiting channel - but I wouldn't expect kernel threads to be listed either.
Let's see a screenshot; just attach it.

Don't go back and edit prior posts - it disrupts the flow of the thread for later readers. And pisses of people trying to help - in this case me.

A quick google found this - as good an explanation as any.
