what do you do with linux?

right, i was having a linux vs. windoze debate with a m$-loving friend of mine and his main argument was that you can't do anything with linux.
so, just to prove him wrong and because i never know when to stop, and also so that we can show off how useable linux is as a mainstream OS, i'd like everyone to post what they do with linux and what apps they use to do it, also it would be nice if you'd include linkage.

I'll start with a few things that i use.

We have several that are webservers for a VUI-based (interactive speech recognition) customer support system - customers pay bills, etc.

There is nothing comparable under Windows at all.

web surfing --> mozilla
programming --> gcc, gdb, gvim
watching movies --> xine
writing docs --> oofice
other...

Basicaly, everything I do in win, I can do in linux, and it's sweeter, 'cause you can always learn new things and get better.

Everything I ever used Microsoft Windows for except to watch shockwave. No big loss there.

Of course, I can do more in Linux because it doesn't crash and need re-booting and Linux can actually multitask....

I only use Windows for running Emagic Logic Audio. Everything else I do with Linux.

For the Delphi part, you can use Kylix or Lazarus for Linux

Just the usual, web browsing email, photo editing, mp3's ftp stuff to friends ect ect....

i think we can do almost everything with linux, so the question should be
'what can't you do with linux' since it will have smaller threads and been exist at this forum (forget where exactly ...)
we can get anything on linux, even the famous windoze blue screen, using bsod screensaver, COOL

so just kill this thread ...
