What Distro to use for a gateway?

I am currently running slackware 10.1 on my machine, however I have just acquired an old PIII and wanted to set up a Gateway, however I am not sure what distro to use, Debian is looking like a good candidate, however does anyone have any other suggestions? FreeBSD maybe?
thanks

Any distro should do, so go with the one that you are most comfortable with. Personally I would use FreeBSD or CentOS, but Debian is also good because its quite a stable distro.

How about Smoothwall? That way, it'd be a gateway with mega firewall abilities as well!

IF it's for gateway, router, firewall only then smoothwall is the easy way to go, but a P3 is overkill. I'd run the P3 as a server or desktop and find a pentium 1 or 2 for the gateway
