What distribution, for server + proxy (with cache) + web interface

I'm looking to move one of my computers to Linux.

I need:
server-software: Apache2, MySQL 5, PHP 5
it will be used as a local proxy (all other computers use windows Vista), caching and traffic shaping would be nice
a web interface, so no screen/keyboard has to be connected (except for installation).

So I'm looking for a light-weight linux distribution, that's easy to configure (almost runs-out-of-the-box).
*light-weigth, because I don't need any gui, nor many programs. The computer will be at least an AMD 2600+ (2GB RAM)

Untill now I've found ClarkConnect, but I'm looking for alternatives.

Thanks in advance for your sugestions.

for an all in one SME solution, SME is also a nice option. this will give you a linux based server that acts like active directory for your windows computers. althernatively, if you wanted to keep things VERY simple, but prepared to put in the time to build the server yourself I'd suggest Debian + Apache2 + php5, +MySQL5 +Webmin +Squid

if you wish to add file sharing as well, simply wack samba in the mix as well. It really depends on your background in linux and how much time you have. But for a very quick fix solution, SME is great. You could have it all up and running in about 20 minutes. :-)

Thanks for your sugestion, but I read SME is discontinued.

I've hardly any understanding of Linux. I've always used windows (and before that ms-dos).

the SME project has changed companies a few times from memory. If in doubt always check out distrowatch to see if things are current if their own website does not mention anything.

looks like it is still up and running. 7.3 is the latest, I used 7.1 a few months ago and its still great.

thanks for letting me know, I'll check out the version at distrowatch.
