what's the impact of changing a monitor?

Hi,
My new monitor is arriving tomorrow. I am just wondering if how what effect it'll have on my system (My current monitor is a standard 19'' LCD - the new one is a widescreen 24'' LCD). Obviously, I'll have to reconfigure nvidia-xconfig (fedora + nvidia) and system-config-display (centos + nv). Is there anything else that I need to do?

You might not need to do anything else.
Check your monitor documentation to see what resolutions it handles and at which refresh rates. You might be able to use the nvidia desktop tools that gets installed to finetune the settings if nvidia-xconfig doesn't choose the optimum of your monitors capabilities automatically.
