WGET command not working

Hi,

I have a website that I need to go to often and disable a monitor. To disable I need to login to the website-> click on monitor -> then uncheck a box.

I am told that I can do this through a scipt using the WGET command. I got the parameterized query and then tried to execute it through a *.sh script.

The script generates a php file in the location from where it is executed. When I go to the site and check the monitor is not disabled.

Could someone please advise on this. Thanks.

You can do it with wget or curl in all liklihood, but is it downloading the file from the server or downloading the result of the operation, what does the php file have in it?

It is creating a file called login.php.I have attached the file as login.txt. Not sure what the file is. When I open the file as html in IE on windows it is opening the login page of the site.

I created the URL below from firebug in firefox where I copied the URL with parameters:

wget --ignore-length http://www.siteuptime.com/users/serv...on&Track503=on
