thanks for the help anyway..... i'm talking to the head tech at my ISP some time today. i'll raise hell until they stop blocking me.

Thats right you get 'em. Thats not right that they just all of a sudden disabled it. Tell them that you had a very profitable web company and they just costs you thousands of dollars by suddenly disabling port 80. That will scare the hell out of them.

the actual truth is... i'm a student getting ready to graduate and my portfolio is on the server. i have 3 years of work on the server and if my professors and department head can't view my portfolio i wont graduate. when i signed up with this ISP i made that perfectly clear, and some azzhole on their end probably didn't read the file and saw i had a web server running and shut it down before asking why.

Either that or it'll get him kicked off

It depends on the ISP...I know mine specifically does not allow personal webservers...until code red they turned a blind eye tho...then they shut down access on port 80.
