Vmware fusion - similar products

I've just seen the new Vmware fusion (http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/) Unfortunately it's for mac. It doesn't appear that their other virtualization products will do this in either windows or linux. I would love to be able to get perfectly working linux apps working in windows and vice versa. It looks like openlina (http://openlina.org) has been trying to do this, and will apparently for some applications.

Are there any other projects out there for this?

Not that Ive seen and i too am looking hard.

If your a programmer you can program in JAVA or use Adobe AIR which will soon be full platform but it makes me furious why we cant all get along.

Also have a look at www.reactos.com who are making an opensource windows distro from scratch and working deeply with wine developers so i see potential thier
