Question visual basic in winex

I have Visual Basic 6 Professional installed and whenever I start it it boots the VB Working Model and not the Professional edition. I just do winex vbasic.exe ... any ideas?

If you had that much dough to buy the Pro edition, you wouldn't have a problem shelling out less than 100 bones for VMWare which works flawlessly with every Windows app including VB6 I tried.

If you must not spend a buck, look up

Phoenix Object Basic

and

Don't mean to hijack the thread here...but do you have a link to VMWare?

Is it true that it works FLAWLESSLY in running ALL Windows Apps...(Including games?)

vmware doesn't have some hardware support such as 3d acceleration or hi resolution modes, it is also slower of course becasue it is running ontop of linux. http://www.vmware.com/ It actually emulates a computer that you can install windows onto, or any other OS including linux, freebsd etc. There is also a version for windows.

Yep, I have yet to run into a progarm that's not installable.

As for games, nope. Never. You can play 2D games or board games. 3D is out of the question. VM is geared towards non-gaming applications. Only software emulation.

If you want 3D gaming on Linux, there's a solution. Non-free. Wine-X.

The only drawback of VM is you can't drag and drop files between VM and Linux. The only ways to share files are a) set up samba, strange if you ask me, and b) burn a CDR(W). VM reads CD, DVD, floppies, just fine.
