Virtual machines and dual boot

Hi!

Is it possible to use a virtual machine to read your dual boot partition?

For example, suppose that you have a dual boot partition with windows and linux. Then is it possible that for example from linux you start the virtual machine and VM will read your other partition and restart windows from it?

Which free VM will allow me to do that?

Thanks,

Diego

VMware server will do this, but generally speaking it's a really, really bad way to do anything... certainly windows will have an absolutel fit if all of a sudden *all* of its hardware appears to have changed.
