Virtual Desktops and Icons question

I was wondering if there is a way to set up each virtual desktop with its own set of desktop icons, maybe even different task bars and so on? I did get the background different on each one, lol.

assuming you are using kde or gnome.. then sorry, no, this feature isnt available...

LOL. Actually I have a wav file that says that along with, "Oooooooooo, they have the internet on computers now." LOL, I need to take out the ,"hmmmm,," part though.

As far as the Virtual desktop question, I didn't think so but Iwas hoping. I think that would be a great option for future desktop enviroments like KDE or Gnome.

True. But I do work on several things. Sometimes I even do them at once. I would like to have seperate icons for writing on one desktop, web design on another, Linux related on a third, personal/games on the fourth, etc... This way it keeps things in order and not to cluttered. I hate desktops that have so many icons it takes an hour to find what you need. If not icons then maybe customizable task bars for each desktop. Something. I hate the idea of having to log out/switch user each time to access different accounts I have set up for different things. Again it can all be on the same desktop, but I like things a little more neater and in order. Yes I can also have different folders for each one, and I do. But it seems it ouwld be more convient with seperate icons. As far as being to bloated. There are many excellent desktops. XFCE, fluxbox, to name a couple, and so on that are far from being bloated. If one doesn't like the direction KDE or anything else is going in then they can switch to another desktop enviroment. That is the great thing about Linux, Choices and Options.
