vim related que

Hi all,

Since I don't know where I have to put vim related query and vim is the fundamental part of the Linux so its fine to put my query Linux-General questions.

when I am Exploring the file system from the vim editor, i.e. when I pressed :E or :Explore from the vim/gvim there are bunch of the files/folders displaying as per my work area.

If I want to open one of the file from that list I just clicked on it and the file is opened.

Problem is that any file/folder is opening with just one mouse click and it might be the default behavior of the vim/gvim editor. But I want to change it as two click basis. i.e. any file/folder should open when I click twice on respected file/folder same as windows file system.

So Is there any kind of change needed in .vimrc or .cshrc or any other place.

Hope I will get positive response.

Great day,

Hi,
vim/gvim is a text editor not a file manager.
So I suggest that you use a file manager to obtain what you wish.
Personally I use Midnight Commander with vim as the external file editor.
You can get the double click action if you configure the 'mc.ext' configuration file; for example:
Code:
# Text
type/^ASCII|ISO-8859
        Open=if [[ -n "$DISPLAY" ]]; then (gvim %f &); else %var{EDITOR:vim} %f; fi
to use vim/gvim on text files.
Cheers.

Hi berbae,

I just want to open any of the file from my file-list which is shown in the new tab (:tabnew and then :E) or explored windows (:E) of the gvim editor by just two click no a single mouse click.

I already used this functionality from my previous client project with only gvim editor not by any kind of file mangager.

Currently I do not have my previously worked .cshrc/.vimrc or any other related files from which I can get reference to achieve my goal.

I am waiting from a day to see someone's reply, So thank for at least replied me.

Have a great day berbae.
