Question View TTY in X

I know there is a way, but have never done it before... how to you view a normal TTY console from inside X? For example, I have logs going to tty9 , how can I pull a terminal to monitor it?

I believe you'll want to hit CTRL+ALT+F1-6 and to get back to X ALT+F7 etc...

Then i'm confused. Couldn't you just open a terminal window and tail -f nameoflogfile?

Yep that's what I needed - I couldn't remember the easiest way to do that.

Although it would be nice to know if you could do the latter.
