Video Players Crash (reinstall)

I'm running Debian Etch, and am having problems using video players. Mplayer works, not with all media (rmvb), but think all my video plays should work.

Xine and kdetv both give me a floating point exception
and totem just crashes, probably related to the same thing.

I've run across people getting this with Mplayer in the newest one, but I originally got the error without mplayer installed.

There was also bad ram, memtest86+ found no errors.

Any Ideas?

Edit:: I never found a solution and ultimately reinstalled the OS (not because of this though)

try VLC, it's just the best videoplayer. if it does not work, then probably there is something wrong with your xorg configuration: please paste here your xorg.conf file!
