VESA DPMS - Screen blur on recover

I have discovered that, when issuing a dpms off command while using the Vesa system in X in my desktop, I get problems when restoring.

Steps to reproduce:

I do:

xset dpms force off

I wait, then I press a random letter on the keyboard. When awakening, the screen shows a blurred image. It's still usable, but it is a pain.

My card is:

00:10.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C73 [GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i] (rev a2)

When reproducing the above with nouveau, no problem is found. The problem has been also reproduced in OpenBSD with the same results.

My monitor is a Hitachi CM751ET. I have tried with other CRT monitor and the same has happened.

Does anybody have an idea of why is this happening?
