Short answer. You can't.

Long answer: Windows uses a file, sometimes named win386.swp and sometimes with other names.

Linux uses an entire partition, speciallly formatted, that windows can not even *see*.

How to share a linux swap partition with windows:

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/mini/Swap-Space.html

why do people say it's not possible? you shouldn't assume things...

My bad!! I am an eternal newbie and I continue to be amazed at it's capabilities.

Why would one want to slow down his system using those filesystems for swap?

well you don't. under linux it IS a nromal swap file. some systems benefit as they just don't have the space for it. and such like. it's just a nicer idea too.. why the hell not...?

*sigh* I apologize for giving the "swift" answer. All things in linux are possible, even potentially using bad RAM with special software, et cetera. I guess I'll stick to giving them the "yes, you can, and here's how" approach, and let them decide if it is worth their time or not.
