Apologies if this is a wrong forum for this topic or this has been asked before (tried searching for it).
I recently upgraded Ubuntu on my 64-bit desktop, from jaunty to karmic. Smoothest upgrade experience I have ever had (even better than L to SL in case of Mac). Kudos.
My question was regarding saving the bandwidth (and time) to upgrade another machine I have. For instance, I have machines A and B which are at version x. A got upgraded to x.next and it of course downloaded all the packages it needed (it took about 10 hours). Can B (which is more-or-less identical in terms of contents) leverage this fact to upgrade itself to x.next without having to download all of the same packages from remote repositories?
Distribution: Mostly Gentoo, sometimes Debian/(K)Ubuntu

As to my knowledge, Ubuntu does not cache .deb files. If you want such functionality, you should use an (APT) proxy of some sorts. However, in your current situation that won't help.
