using system rescue CD

I downloaded system rescue cd (http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page) but I can't seem to get it working.

It boots, but then it just drops me to a shell. Is this normal? I expected some kind of menu or something where I can choose what I want to do and such. There's Xorg command but that just brings to a black/white pixel screen with X cursor and does nothing.

Is there something I need to do to get it working?

Looking at the tools provided (parted, midnight commander for example), these are all command line toos, so I would assume that the cd drops you into a shell with basic tools to undertake recovery.

The text shell environment is normal for the System Rescue CD. There are some graphic utilities using XFCE, I think, and partimage uses ASCII terminal sequences to create a textual gui.

When the computer first loads the System Rescue CD you will see a boot prompt at the bottom of the screen. The top of the screen has instructions for enabling various options using parameters on the boot line. Use the F keys to read the various options available.

Actually, got that wrong - I should have looked further down the page.

See http://www.sysresccd.org/Sysresccd-m...use_the_system, this suggests you need to run "wizard"
