Using Postfix instead of Sendmail

hi all,

iam facing some wierd problem. i have configured a mail server using Postfix. All the configurations i.e. the file and rest are having no problem. I've installed sendmail on the server ...but service sendmail is stopped. and service postfix is running.

still when i send a mail...the system tries to use sendmail...instead of postfix.

i tried using " mail someone@somewhere" ... and kept a watch over the maillog... and from here ...i got to know the system was trying to send that mail using sendmail...which is not obviously the mails arent relayed.

can somebody pls help me to overcome this problem and pls tell me as to how i can use postfix by default for sending mails...

P.S. i doubt if i've asked the question in the appropriate forum... if this is not the right forum can the moderator pls shift it to some appropriate forum
