using LILO at boot up

I got a thin client with linux version 2.4.21
i lost root passwd beacuse of corruption of /etc/passwd file
i thought of logging in single user mode through LILO (default boot loader)
IT appers that it is using LILO

but how can i edit or enter into LILO environ are there any hot keys

any one no (REMEMBER IT IS A THIN CLIENT)

I believe you just type in the extra parameters you want to use. Like:

boot: Linux single

That is if you have a title called Linux
