user unable to connect to X(other then the log'd one)


Howdy,...
when i try to run some prog from terminal( konsole) and the user is other then user that is loged in im getting the next error:
Quote:
debian:/home/mha13# kedit
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

kedit: cannot connect to X server :0.0
debian:/home/mha13
no matter if it is even root.
for example:
the logged user is tux.
im su'ing to root from konsole.
Quote:
mha13@debian:~$ su
Password:
debian:/home/mha13# mozilla-firefox
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

The correct sequence of commands to run an X-app as another user is:

~$xhost +localhost
~$su -
password
#export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
#mozilla-firefox

Try su - mha13 instead ... if that doesn't work your install maybe
using Xauthority instead...

i belive i got the issue ..
using in this post i saw the use of xhost local:root i did it and any user on my pc is able to open windows on my screen.
